Betty Mosby Obituary

Betty Mosby, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully December 10, 2025 surrounded by her family. She was born in Lewistown, Montana, the daughter of Harry and Eula McDonald, and grew up on a ranch near Garneill alongside her two brothers, Dale and Del. Betty attended school in Garneill and Judith Gap before continuing her education at Butte Business School.

In August 1963, Betty married the love of her life, Marvin E. Mosby, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Together, they built a life rooted in hard work, family, and community. Their early years were spent working on ranches in Judith Gap before moving to Great Falls, Mosby, and eventually Winnett, where they raised their three children: Brett, Blaine, and Karleen. Betty worked as the evening librarian at the Winnett library beginning in 1972, sharing her love of books.

In 1981, Betty and Marvin moved to a small ranch east of Winnett, where they raised cattle and created a welcoming home for family and friends. Betty was known for her kindness, resilience, and devotion to her family. She and Marvin shared 53 years of marriage until his passing in 2017.

In 2017, Betty moved to Laurel and enjoyed spending time with her childhood friend Peggy and watching her grandkids play soccer.  She had many memorable trips with her son Blaine and wife Keri to the cabin in Nye and to Arizona.

Betty is survived by her children Brett of Coon Valley, WI, Blaine (Keri) of Laurel, and Karleen (Donald) Mosby-Fulbright of Belgrade; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her unwavering support for her family, and the many lives she touched in her community.

Services will be held at the Winnett Cemetary at a later date.
